Binoy Rai – Managing Director/Group Leader
Fond of mountains from his very childhood, Binoy got introduced to trekking when he was at high school. He has led several treks and tours for last 18 years during which he worked with many different international companies like Mountain Travel Sobek, National Geographic Adventure, Over Seas Adventure Travel, World Expeditions and many others. He holds Grade ‘A’ Certificate in both basic and advance mountaineering course which allows him to climb any of the mountains in the Himalayas. He has climbed some of a very popular peaks in the Himalayas included Mera Peak, Island Peak and many others. He has taken a wilderness first aid training for consecutive 5 years from Dr. Jim Duff, a very well known medical practitioner and mountaineer from Australia. Currently, he is the Managing Director of Mystic Himalaya Trekking and has been maintaining quality service of the company by making sure that each and every trip is run to the highest standard and to our clients' heart's content.
Pranoy Rai – Chairman/Trek and Tour Leader
Pranoy has been involved in tourism industry for past two decades leading trips all over Nepal and some parts of Tibet and India. Besides his working destinations, he has also traveled to the United States, England and Thailand. As a result of his skilled leadership and passion for his work, he leads treks for some of the top-notch international companies such as National Geographic Adventures, Mountain Travel Sobek and Overseas Adventure Travels. He has done his Masters in Buddhism and besides English he also speaks other languages such as Hindi, Chinese and Tibetan. He is currently the Chairman of Mystic Himalaya Trekking Pvt. Ltd. and helps managing the trips.
Peter Chettri -Trek Leader
Peter holds a very good sense of humor and adventurous spirit which is quite contagious. He was born in Nepal and brought up in Sikkim. As a graduate in Arts, he has a good command over both spoken and written English. He has been leading treks with Mystic Himalaya for three years. He has done a first aid training specialized in Acute Mountain Sickness. His excellent leadership has always earned a good reputation for the company.
Mukund Thapa -Trek Leader
Mukund Thapa has been leading treks and tours since 2000. He did his schooling in India, after which he completed his advanced training from The Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, one of the pioneers of mountaineering and adventure training, based in Darjeeling, India. He has had the experience of scaling the Island and the Mera Peaks in the Himalayan region. A lover of nature, outdoors and having a keen interest in learning about people and places he has gathered much knowledge on the local customs and traditions of Nepal. He is very much familiar with most of the major trekking trails of Nepal. He has been professionally trained on several medical and emergency first aid by International Red Cross members, KEEP and Wilderness First Aid (Solo). Friendly and warm natured Mukund is loved both by the local vendors as well as his clients.
Shreelekha Tamang – Correspondence Manager
Born and brought up in the beautiful hills of kalimpong, West Bengal, India, Shreelekha is a complete nature and travel lover. She was always very keen to learn about new things and new places and working with Mystic Himalaya Trekking opened her doors to understand more about her life for which she is very grateful. She has been working with Mystic Himalaya Trekking since last year and is enjoying her work to the fullest. She is very extrovert, passionate, focused and hardworking individual. The moto of her life is to believe in excellence.
Kabita Thapa Magar – Accountant
Kabita was born and brought up in Sindhupalchowk in the eastern Nepal and has been living in Kathmandu for seven years. She has been associated with Mystic Himalaya for a year and holds the position of an accountant. Her hard work and dedication makes her the true asset for the company. Besides sitting in front of a computer solving sums, she also enjoys traveling, listening to music, reading books and she has picked up a new hobby recently which is trekking.
Dil Tamang – Cook
Besides his excellent cooking skills, Dil is also well known for his modesty and calmness. He is always on his toes and is very resourceful at his work. His cookery has melted many people's heart and they have often mentioned that the food he served on trek was the 'best meal they ever had in their life'. He started his career as a porter and earned his position as a main cook through many years of hard work and dedication. He has done a training in cookery from Silver Mountain College of Food and Beverages in Kathmandu. He is very keen to serve you what is on today's menu.
Pemba Tamang – Cook
When it comes to cooking, there is no one else like Pemba. He can make wonders from just a couple of pots and pans and a propane cooking heater in the middle of nowhere which why he is known as the Kitchen MacGyver. He has been working in trekking industry for past twenty-two years and absolutely enjoys his work. He regards mountains as his real home and gets itchy feet as soon as there is no work for him during monsoon. Whether it is a freezing cold temperature or scorching heat, he always has a big smile on his face and is always in a good spirit. During low season Pemba gets his cookery lesson from one of the renown colleges of Food and Beverages in Kathmandu. He recently completed his cookery training from Silver Mountain College in Kathmandu. He is looking forward to dazzle you with his mouthwatering items in the menu.
