Overview

Annapurna Base Camp trekking is one of the most popular treks in the Nepal Himalayas. A journey to Annapurna Base Camp trek takes us to the lap of stunningly beautiful Mount Annapurna which is above 8000 m ( 26,545ft) peak. Truly a nature’s paradise, Annapurna Base Camp trek allows us to enjoy the amphitheatric setting, providing 360 degree views of the world’s tallest mountains. Annapurna South and Annapurna 1 will dominate the skyline while Mount Machapuchare (Mount Fishtail) stands out to be awe-inspiring with its character.  In the morning crisp air with a tinge of sun light on white mountain tops of the Annapurna’s and Machapuchare (Fishtail) and a beautiful sun set views, is something that will stay with you forever.
The beautiful Annapurna Base Camp trek sets out from the historically enriching Kathmandu valley to the nature’s paradise Pokhara city. Once you get to Pokhara the beautiful panoramic views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range becomes very welcoming. The lake city of Pokhara is blessed with beautiful lakes, caves and temples. Early morning and late afternoon boat ride provides you the stunning views of the Annapurna Range. The city offers you some of the interesting sightseeing tours, visiting the Island temple (Barahi Temple), Devis Fall, Gupteswor cave, mountaineering museum, Gorkha museum and several other sites. Environmentally very friendly, Pokhara is popular in maintaining a clean air which helps to attracting thousands of travelers, every year.
After we have left Pokhara City we enter into ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project). The villages on the trail to Annapurna Sanctuary trekking highlights some of the most beautiful views on earth with its perfect setting of traditional Gurung and Magar villages in the foreground and stunning mountain views in the background. Our trek follows beautiful rice paddy fields, allows us to walk along the bank of Modi River. The villagers greet with warm Namaste. This is the form of greeting we use widely in Nepal. Since the Annapurna Base Camp trekking starts from low altitude it gives our body enough time to acclimatize.  The trail climbs gradually to Jhinu Danda which offers the trekkers to enjoy hot spring to relax their weary body before marching off to Chomrong which is a well spread village. From Chomrong onwards the trail gets more and more remote and passes through dense rhododendron forest and thick bamboo groves. Finally we reach to alpine region at MBC (Machapuchare Base Camp) and then to Annapurna Base Camp.

Truly a natures paradise, Annapurna Base Camp Trek takes you into the heart of Annapurna mountains. Discovering the lands of the Gurungs, Magars, Chettris and Bahuns we finally make it to Machapuchare Base Camp (Fishtail mountain base camp) and Annapurna Base Camp where we will be blessed with stunning views of all the tallest mountains.

Detail Itinerary

Our office representative will meet you at the airport and will transfer you to your hotel. Arrangements will be made for the distribution of your kit bag, sleeping bag and down jacket at 5 pm and trek briefing will be delivered. Overnight in Kathmandu.

You will be transferred to the bus station for your wonderful bus ride to Pokhara. For your safety and comfort we will be providing you tourist bus. The road to Pokhara is very scenic. Leaving Kathmandu valley the road passes through beautiful farmlands over looking to Ganesh Himal and Langtang range in the back drop. As the road gets down to the valley bottom we drive along a magnificent gorge along the bank of Trisuli River which is a very popular river for white water river rafting. On the way you will notice lots of tented camps on the bank of this beautiful river. During the season time you will also see lots of rafters gliding down the river.

Our bus stops for lunch before Mungling Bazaar and from here on it is only 3 hours of beautiful drive to Pokhara.  Overnight at Pokhara. (Breakfast)

We drive from Pokhara to Nayapul in a private car an it takes about an hour drive. The road to Nayapul is very scenic as on the way we will see beautiful Seti River which is very popular for river rafting. The first section of the road is pretty straight forward up to Dhampus Phedi and from here on the road snakes out with an uphill climb to Naudanda. As we drive the road only gets better and better until we reach Nayapul, the starting point of our trek.

After crossing a suspension bridge and a metal bridge at Birethanti we will reach Annapurna Conservation Area Project Check post. From here we trek through beautiful villages keeping Modi Khola (River) to our right. The trail is gentle until we get to Sauli Bazaar where we stop for lunch. After lunch it is a steep climb to Ghandruk. It is a tedious climb but will be a very good practice for us to get to Annapurna Base Camp. Most of the people living in the Ghandruk village are the Gurungs. Gurungs are well known in the British Army for their bravery and fighting skills. The village of Ghandruk is well maintained and is picturesque with a typical Gurung houses with the Annapurna Mountains in the back drop. Overnight at Ghandruk. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

We trek to the top of the village from where we can have a birds eye view of the entire Ghandruk village. We cross a suspension bridge and descend all the way down to Kimrong Khola which is a small stream river but very beautiful. After passing through the small settlements of Kimrong village we make a steep climb to Jhinu Danda where we stop for lunch. This place is very popular of its wonderful hot spring. "Do not worry " we will be spending overnight at Jhinu on our way back for that purpose. After lunch we head towards beautiful and big Chomrong village which is the last permanent settlement on towards Annapurna Base Camp. The main occupation of the people living here are farming and tourism. Overnight at Chomrong. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Following the stair case we descend and pass through the beautiful Chomrong village until we get to the valley bottom where we cross a long suspension bridge crossing over a side stream. After getting to the valley bottom our trail climbs steeply and walks through bamboo thickets and under the canopy of dense forests. We stop for lunch at Sinuwa and carry on to Bamboo for over night stay. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Keeping ourselves to the left of Modi Khola we leave the dense forest canopy and emerge into high upland meadows. Towards east on the other side of the Modi River we could see Mount Machapuchare ( Mt. Fishtail). Very soon the trail penetrates into bamboo thickets until we reach Himalaya where we stop for lunch. After lunch we reach to Hinku Cave which used to be a shelter for the porters in the past. Our trail then dives across a small ravine and straddles the avalance debris to climb briefly to Deurali. Overnight at Deurali. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

Our trail climbs gently along the riverbed towards Bagar which used to be a perfect spot for camping and the view from her is stunning. After Bagar it is a stiff climb before reaching Machapuchare Base Camp. The view from Machapuchare Base Camp is really stunning as we would be able to see Mount Machapuchare (Fishtail), Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Annapurna III, Hinchuli and many others. It is a gently climb from Machapuchare Base Camp and takes about 2 hrs to reach Annapurna Base Camp. Once we get to Annapurna Base Camp we will be in an amphitheater surrounded by 360 Degree mountain views. Overnight at Annapurna Base Camp. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

We retrace our trail back down to Bamboo. Coming down is relatively quite easy so we will be covering quite a fare distance. Overnight at Bamboo. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

For what we have missed while going up, now we are going to take whole opportunity to relax our body in a hot stimulating spring water of Jhinu. We will get to Jhinu in a good time to enjoy the hot spring. Time to open up a bottle of beer if you wish. Overnight at Jhinu.(Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner)

We descend all the way down to Kimrong Khola (River) and pass through Bee Hive village and get to Seuli Bazaar where we stop for lunch. From Seuli Bazaar it is about 3 hours walk to Nayapul and from Nayapul we drive to Pokhara. Overnight at Pokhara. (Breakfast/Lunch)

EBC 2018 – Amazing

I completed the Everest Base Camp trek with my wife and two great friends in October 2018. The trip was amazing with some of the best scenery on the planet. The Nepalese people are wonderful and so welcoming to visitors. Our trip and itinerary was perfectly put together by Binoy and the team at Mystic Himalaya and the trek superbly guided by Chogyal. This was my second EBC trek organized by Binoy and we’re already planning our return in 2020 to explore the Annapurna region. I highly recommend Mystic Himalaya Trekking and look forward to my next trek with them.

Amazeballs

After my husband's 12 years of incessant nagging, I finally agreed to trek to Everest Base Camp. Having kept in contact with Binoy from his last trek 16 years ago, we had the privilege of trekking with Mystic Himalaya. The professionalism and care shown by the Mystic team was outstanding. From the moment we were picked up from the airport, to the moment we were dropped back, we were completely taken care of. Everything was so well organised, and our trekking crew, Chogyal, Pemba, Buddhi and Sujan were fantastic, every step of the way. We will definitely be back.
TryhardTravelBug,

Wonderful trip to Nepal

We recently went on a trek and tour with Mystic Himalaya Trekking. It was one of the most adventurous and fun trips we have ever been on. One of the owners and our trekking guide named Binoy was the absolute best. I can’t even begin to say how informative he was about the area and how he attended to our every need. He has his own personal crew that hauled our bags and they cooked all our meals. They were so delicious. I would recommend anyone considering going on a trek to Nepal to check them out. I can’t imagine anyone else could be better than they were. Thanks for a memorable and amazing trip.
Brad and Vicki Godfrey,

Absolutely the best Nepal Guides

My son and I had the privilege of trekking with Pranoy and Pemba in the Mustang district, and it was an amazing experience. What sets the Mystic Himalaya experience above other treks is the depth of cultural knowledge and history that the guides have to offer. In addition to breathtaking scenery, we got a fascinating look at the history, architecture, and culture of that region, presented by a guide who is articulate and very well-educated in his field. And let's talk about logistics. We managed to hit the tail end of the monsoon season and got a LOT of rain. With limited time (only one week), our Plan A was to fly to Jomsom and start trekking there. Since planes weren't flying (and didn't for 3 more days), Pranoy got us a driver. We drove for a day and were halted by a massive landslide. Pranoy came up with a new itinerary, and we got some spectacular hiking on our way to Jomsom. With each new "obstacle," Pranoy came up with a new plan and we had a superb trek. We were joking that we went through Plan A, Plan B, Plan C, etc. and were on Plan E by the end. Every bit of it was gorgeous and a lot of fun! With all of those changes, we felt safe and extremely well cared-for. Food was excellent -- supervised and sometimes prepared by Pemba. Accommodations were very comfortable and exceeded expectations. Best of all, Pranoy stayed in constant communication with locals and other guides to ensure our safety every step of the way. With this team, you are working with real professionals that have guided for National Geographic. I wouldn't trek with anyone else -- they are the best!
